Great shoes overall! I work outdoors and constantly find myself wading through water and streams. The best part about these shoes is they are breathable, comfortable, and lightweight.Once my shift is over, I place the shoes in my truck and they are always dry in the morning. I always make sure to let loose the laces and pull the tongue out as far as I can to help with drying. So far I have no complaints. I’ll update if any problems occur.Great water shoe!I used these shoes on my trip to Thailand. These were the only shoes I wore, besides flip flops (thongs, sandals, slippers of course) I wore these on multiple occasions but the main ones I purchased them for were:-Day hiking in a national park (2 hour hiking thru moderate, well marked trails - up and down main stairs + dirt trails, ~5km)-Kayaking and rock-scrambling (descended / climbed rocks using ropes and rocks for handholds)-Hiking and cliff jumping (30 minute hike on dirt trails, w/ moderate incline and cliff sides)These held up during hiking. Only downside is sometimes you will get small rocks and dust in your shoes. This is because there is mesh all along the top. They also have good traction for rock climbing, with moderate traction over wet rocks. I never slipped and fell while wearing these, but depending on the rocks, it may be better to go barefoot.Since the whole top is mesh, these shoes have great airflow and dry quickly. They completely dried overnight between uses. After about 3-4 hours they were moderately dry. I wouldn't trek long distances in these shoes when wet. The walking I did while they were wet did not result in any chafing or blisters though. Not the trendiest shoe - thus I never wore them in the city. Tucking in the laces makes the yellow laces look a bit better as well. I wore my sandals or New Balance for dinners and what not. This is my second pair of these shoes. Hard to find again but we'll worth the wait! The way they fit They are lightweightKILLER VACATION SHOE! works great in the ocean on coral, or in slippery streams, or on approach for a climb. Excellent shoe.Great shoe- use it kayaking and hiking and it works great. Very comfortable. Dries fairly fast and doesn’t rub that bad when wet (compared to other water shoes). Have yet to take them on a day long hike- we’ll see how it goes.Update: so a long hike did give me blisters but I did tie them pretty tight. It was an hour or two long hike. So something to keep in mind. Still overall a great shoe.I bought these as my only shoes going on a 2.5 week trip in the Philippines. After buying and returning 6 other water shoes these won the battle.- put on a pair of socks and they feel like sneakers.- well supported, I'm sensitive and can't wear unsupportive shoes for more than 1 hour.- I'm very active and these handled through rocky terrain for days. Jumping, slipping and running. (Very surprised they didn't fall apart)- NO BLISTERS! Even though I would go from wet to dry to wet all day and walking miles.- easy to clean out sand and shell particles.- water drains out nicely and doesn't get slushy.I bought these last minute before going on holiday where I was going to be camping, walking around by the beach, doing a bit of kayaking etc. I wanted a pair of lightweight shoes that could get wet, would dry relatively quickly and had enough of a sole on them that they could be used for walking reasonable distances on land. Most "water shoes" have no sole at all and are rubbish to walk on for any distance. On the plus side these are really light (less than 250 grams per shoe), have a decent sole without it being too chunky, and actually fit right which hasn't been the case for me with other Merrells recently. The mesh is quite dark so you can wear them as if they are regular trainers and they don't show through like sandals. So they are really flexible that way.The two main problems I found are:a) they don't dry that quickly. I got them completely wet through one day and 24 hours later they were still pretty damp after being left outdoors in dry weather. I had them on the ground though, maybe if I hung them on the line they would have been drier.b) the insoles are full of holes which are just the right size to each be clogged up by largish grains of sand. So after walking in sand you can send a fun 10 minutes pushing the stuck grains out of the drain holes. All in all though, they are great "double duty" shoes which is what I got them for - they are solid enough to be used as general shoes, but drain enough to be useful as water shoes too.I have had a few pairs of Merrell shoes and currently have two other pairs of heavier weight shoes and some leather sandals which I've been very satisfied with. These haven't disappointed. They have a lightweight, almost see through mesh which allows the feet to breathe nicely. I purchased these shoes for use in the warmer weather as the other 'heavier' Merrell shoes tend to be too much during the warmer months. I didn't want to wear my sandals whilst travelling because they're a little harder to drive in and don't offer the feet quite as much sure footedness of a proper shoe. The soles on these are quite lightweight and you can feel stones beneath. I used them on a hike recently and they faired pretty well considering. I've not used them in the water as their title would suggest they're aimed at, but I suspect they'd be fine for this purpose.A great summer shoe. They seem well constructed and look smart.I bought these shoes in April along with another pair from a different seller. I have worn them 6 times, which you can tell as the sole is pristine. They have only been worn on muddy tracks, grass and in water but have worn really badly. One of the straps that basically holds the shoe together is close to snapping and some of the stitching has come out. The strap on the other pair snapped and I returned them and Merrell recognised it was due to a manufacturing fault and reimbursed me, however I can't find the details of the seller on this site to do the same. I am currently using a £20 pair of Karrimor sandals that have held up better. Avoid!!When you buy shoes online, you worry about the size, it's difficult to get right but these fit like a glove, perfect. I wear them without socks and no blisters or anything, Had a beach walk and obviously my feet got wet. Unlike other shoes, they didn't get heavy or uncomfortable and they were dry by the time I got home. Also, on Amazon these were like 30% cheaper than on most other sport sites, the the official outlet one ... Best buy of the year!
